We do not accept returns on orders over 30 days old, or refund shipping costs for returned items.
To avoid additional fees, all returns must be received 15 days after being provided with an RA#.
Shipping and insurance costs for returned items are the responsibility of the customer, unless an incorrect item was shipped, or damaged merchandise was received:
- Damaged or defective merchandise will be replaced immediately, with no return or re-shipping charges to the customer. Notification of a damaged item must be within 15 days of the order being received.
- Incorrect merchandise shipped from the warehouse will be replaced with no return or re-shipping charges to the customer. Notification of an incorrect item must be within 15 days of the order being received.
Return products should be shipped with an insured, traceable carrier (UPS, Federal Express, US Postal). This will protect the customer against any lost or damaged shipments.
Brand New and Opened Items
Only books in sellable, un-marked and non-damaged condition will be accepted for return.
Most coding products we offer are shipped in sealed shrink-wrapping. Removal of plastic wrapping will classify your item as “used” upon return, and will be subject to a re-stocking fee:
- New: Unopened / shrink-wrapped merchandise will be fully refunded, minus cost of shipping. Some exceptions apply, refer to Re-Stocking Fees and Ineligible Items section(s) on this page.
- Used: Most opened / unwrapped merchandise can be returned for refund, minus cost of shipping and re-stocking fee. Some exceptions apply, refer to Re-Stocking Fees and Ineligible Items section(s) on this page.
Re-Stocking Fees
We do not accept returns for orders over 30 days old, or refund shipping costs for returned items. Re-stocking fees are applied at the following rates:
- 0% Fee: Brand new, unopened shrink-wrapped merchandise will be fully refunded, minus cost of shipping.
- 15% Fee: Return requests for used/open merchandise will be subject to a 15% restocking fee, minus cost of shipping.
- 30% Fee: All returns must be received 15 days after being provided with the RA#. A 30% restocking fee will apply if a return arrives 16 days after the RA# is provided to the customer, minus cost of shipping.
If you have not completed your return within 30 days after requesting an RA#, your return will be voided in our system and no longer eligible for credit.
Please pack returned items carefully before shipping.
Only books in sellable, un-marked and non-damaged condition will be accepted for return. If an item is returned for credit in unacceptable condition, an increased re-stocking fee will be assessed at our discretion. In some cases, no credit will be given to the customer.
Ineligible Items
The following items are NOT eligible for return:
- Fast Finders / Code Wheels / Express Reference cards, regardless of condition.
- Used / unwrapped CPT Professional Edition with CPT QuickRef App.
- Used / unwrapped CDT or CDT Coding Companion with eBook & App.
- Customized Fee Analyzers.
- Used software.
Steps for Completing a Return
An RA# (Return Authorization Number) must be provided to the customer PRIOR to returning the merchandise.
- Medicalcodingbooks.com will provide an RA# if you are eligible for a return.
- Return your product(s) to the return address provided by our customer service representative.
- Upon inspection of return product(s), we will issue a credit or send out replacement products based on your specific situation.
- We do not refund shipping costs for returned items.
- We do not accept returns for orders over 30 days old.
